Season 3 Participants

Asher Kenney is a sophomore history major with a minor in legal studies at Olivet Nazarene University from Olathe, Kansas. His interest is in civil law and he plans to attend law school following graduation. His research seeks to highlight the trial of Dr. Henry Sacheverell (1710) and its larger relationship to party politics, free speech, and the position of the established church in England. 

Benjamin Storm is from Milford Illinois. At Olivet Nazarene University, he majors in history and hopes to become a history professor one day. Once he graduates from ONU, he will be pursuing a postgraduate education in  his primary field of interest – early 20th century American Progressive Era history. His episode centers on Philip Melanchthon’s articulation of Lutheran civil responsibility in the Augsburg Confession and its implications on Lutheranism’s relationship with authorities who did not share the same beliefs. 

Alysandra Residori is a student at Olivet Nazarene University. She is from Herscher, Illinois. Alysandra is a Social Science Education and History double major. After graduation she plans to teach middle school or high school social science in a district near her hometown and hopes to inspire the next generation of history majors. Her episode focuses on Argula von Grumbach, the first published Protestant woman, and her revolutionary actions during the Reformation. 

Vincent Cabral is a current junior at Olivet Nazarene University majoring in history with a minor in political science. He is from Yorba Linda, California, birthplace of former President Richard Nixon. After university he plans to either become a history teacher or work in law enforcement. In this episode, Vincent discusses the intense 16th Century debate between Martin Luther and Desiderius Erasmus over free will. 

Abigail Pitts is from River Grove, IL and is a Social Science and Education major at Olivet Nazarene University. Upon graduation, Abbie plans to work at the high school level as an AP U.S History or AP World History teacher. She is interested in the 14th-17th century of European history, specifically the Renaissance, as well as the American Civil War era. For her podcast episode, Abbie focused on the idea of Christian Humanism through arguably the most influential person in this field, Erasmus of Rotterdam, as he used the power of his power to influence the education of Princes. 

Grant J. Rix is a senior at ONU from Chico, California, studying Political Science, Legal Studies, and Military Science. He intends to commission from ONU’s ROTC program into the US Army as a Second Lieutenant in May, serve a career in the military, and eventually obtain a Law Degree to practice Military Law. His research interests primarily focus on military and governmental reforms of the Early Modern Period and the development of conflict during the era. His podcast investigates the Puritanical nature of the Parliamentarian cause in the First English Civil War.  

 Katrina “Andi” Anderson is a senior Social Work major with a double minor in history and psychology from Ellicott City, MD. Her areas of research interest largely surround Tudor-era England, specifically in how the women of the Tudor family affected history. Andi will be attending UIC’s Master’s program in Social Work in the Fall of 2026. Her podcast examines the reign of Mary I of England (1553-1558), providing a much needed correction to the often overly malign characterization of her in Protestant historiography. 

Zack Bakker is a Sophomore at Olivet Nazarene University who is studying History and Political Science. Zack loves fishing, lifting, hanging out with his friends, and of course, history. In the future, Zack hopes to enter the public field and give back to his community. For his episode of the podcast, Zack focuses on the history of French Protestantism and the persecution of French Protestants under the reign of King Louis XIV.

Tiah Guthrie is a Senior Communications major with a minor in Theatre. She enjoys Theatre, Gymnastics, and crafts. Tiah is the producer and editor of Hear the Voice and Prayer, working closely with Dr. Robinson as a part of her Senior Practicum to help bring this podcast to life.
